The Pirate Store

CLIENT 826Valencia

“Working with Plinko was a dream… they listened to our needs and surpassed all our expectations. The site they created for us captured the feeling of our store, and also made our vision come alive for those who could not visit the store personally.”- Yosh Han, Purveyor of Pirate Supplies,  826Valencia

Nestled in San Francisco sits a noted oddity: The Pirate Store. Authors Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida opened up 826Valencia, a free writing lab for kids, and fund it with a store that sells pirate supplies, offering local buccaneers such pirating essentials as eye patches, peg legs, flags, and spy glasses.

The store site borrows its handmade, aged feel from the store itself, which is decorated with numerous hidden drawers and curious artifacts.

In addition to the site, we also designed the memorial t-shirt for the store’s beloved mascot, Karl the Pufferfish. Never forget.
