Editorial Illustrations

CLIENT Newsweek

“Plinko is a great collaborator. They created smart, creative solutions under a very tight deadline. The finished pieces were rich with detail and made the magazine look amazing.”- Dan Revitte, Managing Art Director, Newsweek

Four times a year, Newsweek puts together a speical issue devoted to one topic. For this particular issue, the theme was health – “The Future of Medicine” – and Plinko was invited to create five editorial illustrations.

We developed a series of grimy, rough illustrations that complimented the content in each story. This first picture accompanies a fascinating story about how plant scientists, trying to make purple petunias even more purple, accidently discovered a way to control certain genes in animals and people.
